Steve Risavy is an associate professor in the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, and he teaches and conducts research in the area of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management. Professor Risavy holds a PhD from the University of Guelph and MASc and BA degrees from the University of Waterloo.
Professor Risavy is also a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and prior to joining Laurier, he was the Director of Human Resources for Fusion Homes. Professor Risavy has also been employed as a Human Resources Management Consultant by Organization and Management Solutions, Knightsbridge Human Capital Management, and the Waterloo Organizational Research and Consulting Group.
Professor Risavy has published several articles in leading scholarship of teaching and learning journals, and many of these publications have focused on the underlying theme of enhancing the student experience during their management education program. He is also an active case and textbook writer. Professor Risavy has also researched a variety of topics related to personnel selection especially pertaining to the ongoing research–practice gap that is evidenced by the selection practices commonly being used by organizations.
