Sarin John received his PhD in financial accounting from the University of Alberta, MBA in finance from North Carolina State University, and Bachelor of Technology in computer science and engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India.
Before pursuing a career in academia, he worked in the enterprise software (data management/integration and analytics) sector in the U.S. for a decade.
His research interests span the economics of intangible assets - their implications for financial reporting and stock market value relevance, corporate governance - including executive and board characteristics, compensation, and takeover defenses, and information systems.
