Biography
I am a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) through the CAMT and am also recognized through the CRPO as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I am an alumnus of Wilfrid Laurier University, holding a Master of Music Therapy degree (MMT), and a BMus in Violin Performance from the University of Calgary.
I currently offer music therapy and psychotherapy services at the Trinity Village Care Centre as well as the Laurier Academy of Music and Arts. I supervise BMT and MMT students completing their music therapy hours. My clinical experience includes providing music therapy and psychotherapy in individual and group formats in dementia-care, in- and out-patient children/adolescent rehabilitation, and mental health.
My experience as a music instructor includes working in private practice, high schools, and clinics in universities. I have had the privilege of working with children and adolescents with special needs, developing skills in providing unique adapted lessons to ensure that music is always accessible. I hope to bring a passion of music and growth, and share this with my students.
