Brett Williams
Biography
Prior to joining Laurier, I was a postdoctoral fellow at University of New South Wales in the School of Economics with the AGORA Centre for Market Design. I graduated with a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2022.
My research interests lie at the intersection of experimental economics, computational economics, and micro theory. More narrowly, I study the design of markets and competitive equilibrium using mediums such as laboratory experiments, agent-based modelling, and simulations.
Research Interests
My current research interests and ongoing projects focus on trader behavior, dynamics and equilibrium notions in general equilibrium. Variations in the market format (mainly continuous double auction), information, trader preferences and satisfaction of common GE assumptions define the settings and research questions of the different projects. All of them make use of at least one of (if not more): laboratory experiments, theory, agent-based modelling and simulations.
