Biography

I enjoy learning about and playing with the tools of my craft: that is, acquiring and applying classic and contemporary social science research methodologies to all sorts of social concepts and concerns.

My current research activity focuses on media representations of occupational injury and fatality in Canadian society. Working with Dr. Shane Dixon, my most recent research investigates the textual representations of occupational injury and fatality in print news media.

Also, with Dr. Jamie LeClair (Health Studies) we are currently examining student perceptions of risk in the downtown core of Brantford, Ontario as part of CityStudio Brantford.
