David Smith is an expert in British history, business history, legal history, blockchain, history of capitalism, corruption, and neoliberalism.

Biography

Professor Smith received his PhD in history and legal history from Harvard University in 2007.

Professor Smith is currently completing a book on the history of early modern corruption that explores historical debates over defining corrupt behaviour. This book is part of his larger research project on business and legal history, which includes publications on business organization, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, the history of neoliberalism, and the history of capitalism. Most recently, he has begun to write an introduction to blockchain and its impact on business organization.
