With over seventeen years of experience as a cellist, I bring a lifelong passion for music and a deep commitment to helping students grow as confident and expressive musicians. I began my cello studies at the age of five with Jean Grieve in Oakville and have since had the privilege of working with a number of distinguished teachers, including Rebecca Morton, Margaret Maria, David Hetherington, and Joseph Johnson. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, where I study under the guidance of Dr. Katie Schlaikjer.
In addition to my private teaching studio, I have taught with the Oakville Suzuki Association—both as an instructor in the Summer Music Program and as a substitute for group classes. My teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of developing both technical skill and musical understanding, while fostering curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love for music.
As a performer, I have been actively involved in a wide range of orchestral and ensemble settings, including the Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Milton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hamilton City Ballet Orchestra, the Oakville Symphony, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. These experiences have deeply shaped my musicianship and enriched my approach to ensemble collaboration and instruction.
