Bio/Research

Mary Kelly is a professor in finance and insurance at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada. Previously, she has taught at University of Calgary and worked as an actuary before entering academia.

As Chair in Insurance, she oversees Laurier’s School of Business and Economics concentration in insurance and risk management. She is an active member of both the Southern Risk and Insurance Association and the American Risk and Insurance Association. She is an ex-officio member of the Insurance Institute of Canada’s Academic Council.

She has consulted for several organizations including the Insurance Institute of Canada, the Insurance Bureau of Canada, and the Law Commission of Canada, as well as providing expert witness testimony at the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.

Research interests and ongoing projects:
