I am an erhu teacher at the Beckett School at Laurier, a registered early childhood music teacher, an erhu musician, and an erhu educator in a Chinese school in Waterloo Region. I began my musical journey at the age of four in my hometown of Beijing, China, studying erhu with renowned erhu masters Xunfeng Jiang and Yongning Liu. I hold a BA (2007) and an MA (2009) from Wuhan University.
I have been playing in orchestras since the age of five. I was the concertmaster of the Beijing Jinfan Chinese Orchestra (1998), Wuhan University Chinese Orchestra (2005), and Waterloo Chinese Orchestra (2014), as well as a guest musician in organizations such as the Canadian Chinese Orchestra. I am currently the music director and erhuist of the Grand River Chinese Orchestra and regularly perform solo and chamber ensemble repertoire.
