Bio/Research

I hold a Bachelor of Music (BMus) from Western University and a Master of Music (MMus) from the University of Toronto. I've also studied at the Accademia Europea dell’Opera in Italy.

As a soprano with a passion for oratorio, art song, and new music, I have worked with composers Ronald Beckett, John Beckwith, Norbert Palej, and Arshak Andriasov. I enjoy exploring music in different languages, including the Norwegian music of Edvard Grieg, and gave the World Premiere of Andriasov's Russian Romances at the Toronto Andriasov Music Festival. Solo performances include Haydn's Creation, Bach Cantata 133 and Vivaldi's Magnificat with KW's Spiritus Ensemble, and a solo recital at the Bach Music Festival of Canada.

My love of teaching began with my studies at the University of Toronto, where I was eager to pursue a degree specifically in Vocal Pedagogy. I am an active member of both The National Association of Teachers of Singing and The Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. As a teacher, I am passionate about helping my students discover their true potential as singing artists. My students have been accepted into music programs at post-secondary institutions, performed in local musicals, competitions and choirs, prepared for RCM examinations, and studied for the pure joy of making music.

Currently, I am researching a curriculum for young children and have witnessed the many benefits of starting singing lessons at a young age. I am very happy to teach students of all ages in my studio, and I enjoy working with my students on a variety of repertoire, including classical, music theatre, pop and contemporary Christian.
