I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Toronto and a BCS (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo. Prior to joining Laurier, I was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Collegio Carlo Alberto in Turin, Italy.
I am an applied microeconomist working in the fields of political economy and development economics, with particular research interests in conflict, media, political communication, and legislative behaviour. Some common themes of my work include the use of theoretical spatial models of political behaviour, the use of social media data to study political environments, and the application of event-studies, difference-in-differences, and other applied micro empirical methods.
