Dr. Fruehwald joined the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University in September 2025. She holds a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (2022), and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the same University. Prior to joining Laurier, she was a Research Officer at the National Research Council of Canada.
The main area of focus of her research is in probing the chemical interactions of electrode interfaces for clean energy applications. Tuning the electrical interactions at interfaces can have a significant impact on the product distribution in various electrochemical processes. Utilizing in-situ characterization techniques and exploiting the interfacial electrostatic interactions can provide in-depth understanding of catalytic processes.
